DESCRIPTION:Announcing the 2024 PGH NTMA/MSC Apprentice Competition! \n\n\n\nFriday\, February 16\, 2024 \n\n\n\nWestmoreland’s Advanced Technology Center \n\n\n\nRegister your apprentice for a battle of the title of The Best Metal Working Apprentice in Southwestern\, PA! \n\n\n\nThe competition tests hands-on performance in setting up and operating machine tools\, including a manual milled part and a manual turned part produced to specifications. A third component is a written examination to assess content knowledge. A point system based on knowledge\, skill and efficiency will determine the winner\, who will receive: \n\n\n\n\nH. Gerstner & Sons Classic Tool Chest (Estimated value – over $1\,500)\n\n\n\nThe title\, The Best Metal Working Apprentice in Southwestern\, PA!\n\n\n\n\nEligibility Requirements: \n\n\n\n\nAny apprentice of the Pittsburgh Chapter NTMA Apprenticeship Program or any apprentice employed at a NTMA Member Company.\n\n\n\nYear 1 & Year 2 apprentices must have earned at least 5 NIMS credentials to qualify.\n\n\n\nNo more than 2 apprentices per company may compete.\n\n\n\n\nAll competitors will be invited to the NTMA Banquet on June 5\, 2024 where the winner will be announced! \n\n\n\nCompetition space is limited to 8 competitors so get your registration forms in ASAP!
